A photograph of bare branches against a sunset sky is transformed into an intriguing image with narrative possibilities. The curving line in the upper right quadrant seems to leap from the center, pulling energy out and into the future.

About Pat Miller

Pat Miller

Pat Miller is drawn to color, form, and character in an effort to capture moments that possess a particular beauty or humor. She especially likes to photograph creatures (birds, mammals, insects), reflections, abstracts, and waterscapes. Her photos range from abstraction to hyper-realism as she works to balance complexity and simplicity. Originally an academic trained in literature, Pat Miller became an artist in her middle years. After growing up in Canton, OH, she transplanted herself to New England in 1971, where she has lived ever since, residing now in Willimantic, CT, and Charlestown, RI.
